iOS 12.4 Jailbreak for A12 Released – How to Jailbreak!

Unc0ver Jailbreak iOS 12.4 for iPhone XS Max, XS, XR, iPad Pro (A12)

YES! an iOS 12 – 12.4 jailbreak for A12 and A12X has been released. This includes the iPhone XS Max, XS, XR and 2018 iPad Pro models. We repeat, the iOS 12.4 jailbreak for A12 devices is finally available! Best of all, you can jailbreak A12 without a computer. For all other devices, we recommend following our earlier tutorial (click or tap here). Today’s release builds upon the aforementioned A7 – A11 iOS 12 – 12.4 unc0ver jailbreak utility. This means that you can now jailbreak A12 on iOS 12.0 – 12.1.2, iOS 12.1.3, iOS 12.1.4, iOS 12.2, and iOS 12.4! Unfortunately iOS 12.3.x is not supported; same goes for iOS 12.4.1. The latter of course being the firmware Apple released solely to patch this exact jailbreak! Sadly if you’re not on a supported firmware, you cannot jailbreak or downgrade until a new utility is released for iOS 13. Check out our iOS 13 jailbreak status checker here (click or tap).

In addition to jailbreaking on-device, you can also use a computer to sideload the app. Download either the unc0ver IPA and Cydia Impactor to do so.

Computer A12 Jailbreak Steps

The above video is our guide on how to sideload the jailbreak app using a computer. It was intended for A7 – A11, but it also works on A12.

Step 1: Connect your A12 device to your computer via USB. Launch iTunes and ensure the connection is trusted between the two. If it is, you will see your device in the program. If not, you’ll need to go through the on-screen prompts on both devices.

Step 2: Quit iTunes. Open Cydia Impactor. If you’re on Mac, you’ll need to allow it inside of System Preferences. Ensure that Impactor recognizes your device.

Step 3: Download the latest unc0ver iOS 12.4 jailbreak IPA into the Cydia Impactor interface. Input your Apple ID and password. This information isn’t collected, it’s just passed through to Apple’s signing servers. If you have two factor authentication (all new Apple IDs do), you’ll need to create an “app-specific password”. Use that when Impactor asks for your password.

Step 4: When the app is installed on your device, you’ll need to trust it. Launch Settings tap General > Profiles & Device Management, followed by tapping on the certificate under the Apple ID. Tap ‘Trust’, followed by ‘Trust’ again.

Step 5: Delete any pending OTA software updates your device may have attempted to auto install. This could be either iOS 12.4.1, iOS 13, or iOS 13.1. To do this, navigate to Settings > General > iPhone Storage (this is dynamic based on your device). Find the software update, tap it, followed by “Delete Update”.

Step 6: Open the A12 Unc0ver iOS 12.4 app on your device and tap the jailbreak button. Tap ok to the prompt. Your device will respring. At this stage, the jailbreak iOS 12.4 process is complete!

Step 7: Add the following sources and install RocketBootstrap, PreferenceLoader, and Reprovision. The former two packages will install automatically as you download tweaks. They’re also required to see your tweaks in Settings. See the above video tutorial for steps on how to use Reprovision.

  1. Hi Guys,

Can me someone tell if it is possible to jailbreak 12.3.1
I had no jailbreak from my iPhone 5 era thats quite long time ago
so I would like to if someone can help me to get it on my phone

    Thx

  2. ‘’Unable to initialize jbinit.’’ I can’t jailbreak. I used chimera before to set nonce. Right now i can’t even jailbreak

  3. HOW TF DO I SET THE NONCE ON IOS 12.4.1 WHEN CHIMERA IS INCOMPATIBLE??? IVE LEFT COMMENTS ON YOUTUBE AND IVE STILL GOTTEN NO ANSWER.

  4. Stay away! Intrude jailbreaking my XR, and when it was all finished, it blacked out my screen and my phone started getting very hot to the touch. It took me about 15 minutes to restart my phone. The phone didn’t reboot automatically because it was still working. It connected to my car’s Bluetooth and I could feel it vibrate when I received notifications.

  5. This jailbreak really needs to be released already. I understand rock solid developing and stability but from the sounds of everything, it seems like it’s pretty much done!!!! Publish it!!!!

    iPhone XS

  6. I really don’t think it’s going to happen. It would’ve happened already if it were possible. Sorry, just my opinion. IOS 13 here we go!

  7. I’m still on iOS 12.2 (A12X) and I don’t upgrade to 12.4 because I see a lot of ppl said “stay always on the lower firmware/version” I make a mistake then?

  8. If I’m on 12.0.1 and have my blobs saved for 12.4 is there a way to restore to 12.4 once apple stops signing it? Now that 12.4.1 is out 12.4 is likely to be removed from the list of signed iOS

  9. I have an iPhone XS MAX running iOS 12.1.2. Can anyone please tell me if should I upgrade to iOS 12.4?!? My JailBreak is stable & excellent… EXCEPT that my iMessages is jacked-up & I cannot send/receive messages to anyone with iMessages enabled. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Apple Tech Support, but I’m sure a Restore to 12.4 would resolve the problem!

    1. Hey
If you send messages to someone with iMessages enabled there is a workaround. When you send the message tap and hold and then press send as text message

      1. Only problem is that it sends as a text message, not an iMessage, so that’s not a work around but rather an alternative to iMessages. One might as well just disable iMessages and send text messages. The reason people want to send iMessages is because an iMessage will only use data rather then credit/money. Hence the reason why the text message box is green (Green for money) and an iMessage box is blue (Blue for data)

    2. If you wanna fix the iMessage bug, I recommend saving your blobs and getting on 12.4 (before it’s stopped being signed)

      1. A.F., thanks for the reply. From the research I’ve conducted, I believe I cannot save my iOS 12.1.2 SHSH 2 Blobs because iOS 12.1.2 is no longer being signed. I hope I’m wrong 🙂

      2. A.F, thanks for the reply/suggestion. From what I understand, I cannot save my SHSH 2 Blobs (iOS 12.1.2) because it’s no longer being signed.

      3. If I’m on iPXS 12.0.1 but have saved blobs for 12.3, 12.3.1, and 12.4 can I upgrade to 12.4 once 12.4.1 drops and apple stops signing 12.4? Its been a couple FW since I did any downgrading/updating. Not sure how the time machine and blobs work now and what FW can be downgraded to if I update to 12.4.1 but have 12.4 blob saved. thx

  10. So if we’re still on iOS 12.2 and have an A12 device like an XR or XS we should not update to 12.4 or we should? Will the 12.4 jailbreak (and the sock puppet exploit) be compatable with iOS 12.2 when it’s finally released? Thanks!

    1. ICU has previously said it’s better to stay in 12.2 instead of upgrading to 12.4 because the vulnerability is exploited more reliably on 12.2… with that being said, I updated to 12.4.

    1. 12.1.4 does have a working jailbreak. If you meant 12.4.1, chances are we won’t see a jailbreak for a long time, if ever. Your best bet for 12.4.1 is to wait for an iOS 13 jailbreak and hope they share the same exploit.
